The hull geometry was designed first in rhino, then imported into solidworks 2005. it is a little painfull to thicken the rhino surface in solidworks, but once that is done, the design of internal structure, molds, plugs, and installation of outfitting is reasonably straightforward.. Solidworks is somewhat difficult to use for boat design. i had a chance to paticipate in a demo of the 2007 version that has some new features that are usefull (i still use the 2005 version). however, being a long time sw user and beginner in rhino i still have to say that rhino is better for boat design..
